95th Arkansas General Assembly: House Bill 1058 Pre-Filed Addressing Advanced Notice of Inspections

The 95th Arkansas General Assembly will convene on January 13, 2025.

Bill filing began on November 15th.

Representatives Unger and Lundstrum introduced House Bill 1058.

The stated purposes of the Bill include:

  • Amend the law concerning ethics and conflicts of interest for public officers and employees.
  • Prohibit public employees from giving advanced notice to entities for required inspections.

House Bill 1058 would amend Arkansas Code Title 21, Chapter 8, Subchapter 3 to add an additional section that would prohibit a public servant from providing:

…an entity subject to inspection by a governmental body advance notice of an inspection that is outside of the notice regularly provided to all persons before an inspection.

Penalties in the Bill include:

  • Ineligibility to hold any office or employment at any of the departments in this state.
  • Removal from employment immediately.
