  • Alabama – Katherine Robertson, chief counsel to Alabama AG Steve Marshall, announced she is running for Alabama AG in 2026.  AG Marshall, who is term-limited, is running in the 2026 GOP primary for the U.S. Senate seat held by Senator Tommy Tuberville.
  • Michigan – Oakland County, MI Prosecutor Karen McDonald announced that she is seeking the Democratic nomination for Michigan AG in 2026 to replace term-limited AG Dana Nessel.
  • South Carolina – AG Alan Wilson announced his candidacy for governor in 2026.
  • Texas – State Senator Joan Huffman has joined a crowded race seeking the Republican nomination for Texas AG in 2026.  AG Ken Paxton is running in the 2026 U.S. Senate GOP primary against Senator John Cornyn.
