The Tennessee Air Pollution Control Board (“Board”) issued a July 31st Proposed Technical Secretary’s Order and Assessment of Civil Penalty (“Order”) to Lodge Manufacturing Company (“Lodge”) addressing alleged violations of a Clean Air Act Title V Operating Permit. See Case No. APC25-0066.

The Order provides that Lodge operates an iron foundry in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.

The Lodge facility is stated to have been issued a Title V Operating Permit for various sources associated with an iron foundry.

The Tennessee Division of Air Pollution Control (“Division”) is stated to have received a Title V semiannual MACT report for the period July to December 2024, on or about February 26, from Lodge. The Division is stated to have determined that visible emissions evaluations for opacity limits were not performed within six months of each other. Instead, the evaluation is stated to have been undertaken during the reporting period and performed on December 18, 2024, while the previous evaluation occurred on March 13, 2024. The source is stated to have continued to operate throughout the period. Therefore, the Order states that Condition E4-1 of the Operating Permit was violated.

The Order assesses a civil penalty of $2,250.00.

The Order provides certain appeal rights.
