On February 28, the CFPB filed a joint stipulation of voluntary dismissal with prejudice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, ending an enforcement action against a credit reporting agency, two subsidiaries, and a former senior executive. As previously covered by InfoBytes, the case was initially brought in 2022 and alleged the parties violated a previous enforcement order in connection with alleged deceptive practices relating to the marketing and sale of credit scores, credit reports, and credit-monitoring products to consumers. According to the stipulation, each party would bear its own costs, expenses and attorney fees.
