The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) announced today that regulators have taken possession of First Republic Bank and appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as Receiver.

JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association Assumes from the FDIC All the Deposits of First Republic Bank

May 1, 2023

The FDIC, which was appointed receiver for First Republic Bank, entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association to assume all of the deposits and acquire substantially all of the assets of First Republic Bank.
