  • Denver attorney David Seligman has announced his intention to run for Colorado AG in 2026, joining a growing field of Democrats that includes Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, former House Speaker Crisanta Duran, and Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty. Term-limited Colorado AG Phil Weiser is running for governor.
  • In Iowa, attorney Nate Willems—who previously served two terms in the Iowa House—is the first Democrat to announce a campaign for Iowa AG.
  • Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand, currently the only Democrat holding statewide elected office, has announced his campaign for governor in 2026. Iowa AG Brenna Bird has hinted, but not formally stated, that she is considering a run for governor rather than seeking reelection.
