The EU T+1 Coordination Committee has published its summary of a meeting held on 6 February 2025. At the meeting, the European Commission representative indicated that the proposal to amend EU CSDR to shorten the securities settlement cycle was expected to be adopted shortly. A key point raised by the chair of the Industry Committee was that the strong will of the Industry Committee to exempt securities financing transactions from the T+1 requirement, and that it was important for the EU to align with the UK on this point. The meeting also discussed the consultation paper (which was published on 13 February 2025) and the chair of the Industry Committee provided updates on the workstreams and workplan, and a timetable for deliverables.
