County and city governments will have one more month to hold meetings remotely after Governor DeSantis—through Executive Order 20-246—issued a final extension to the social distancing precaution before in-person meetings must resume. Since March, Florida has allowed local governments to hold their meetings remotely through an executive order the Governor has periodically extended.

Under the order, local governments may meet remotely through October 31, but must be prepared to meet in person beginning on November 1.
