We recently had the pleasure of attending the South Asian Bar Association of North America’s (SABANA) Annual Conference in Denver. It was an inspiring and energizing few days filled with connection, community, and meaningful conversations about the future of the legal profession.

Like previous years, the conference featured diverse panels on topics including the importance of upholding the rule of law, deep dives into key decisions from the Supreme Court’s 2024-2025 term, and the impact of AI technology in the transactional practice.

The conference also offered outstanding opportunities to network and connect with trailblazing South Asian attorneys from across the U.S., Canada, and beyond. Among them were managing partners of law firms, appellate court judges, and general counsels of major U.S. corporations—all coming together to share insights and experiences.

A key highlight of the conference focused on the Denver Public Schools and the essential services they provide to first-generation students from immigrant families. We were thrilled at the meaningful opportunity to help assemble care packages for these students as our volunteer project for the weekend. Other non-profit organizations that presented at the conference included the SABA Foundation, Sakhi for South Asian Survivors, Equality Labs, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, and Earthjustice.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to attend this conference and other SABA-related events, as they serve as powerful reminders that we are part of a broader, supportive community. We left feeling more inspired and empowered than ever, with a renewed commitment to upholding the rule of law and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplaces. Alongside valuable insights to bring back to our individual practice areas, we also came away with strengthened relationships and meaningful new connections.

We look forward to upholding these values for years to come… and to joining our peers and colleagues at next year’s conference in San Diego!
