According to several published reports, Mark Calabria is expected to join OMB where he will be detailed to the CFPB until Jonathan McKernan is confirmed by the Senate. Calabria previously served as the director of FHFA under President Trump’s first term, where he frequently weighed-in on housing matters (covered by InfoBytes here and here). He was also a chief economist to Vice President Pence, but he spent a majority of his career at a think tank. Calabria also held positions with HUD and the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.
