We are pleased to announce that Phil Leslie has joined Cornerstone Research as the firm’s first Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO). A distinguished academic and economist, Dr. Leslie previously led digital initiatives at Amazon and oversaw the development of a strategic research team that included over 50 Ph.D. economists.
As CTIO, Dr. Leslie will lead technology and innovation strategy at Cornerstone Research, expanding on the firm’s substantial expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and large language models. Dr. Leslie’s unique combination of experience in industry and academia makes him an excellent fit for this role, where he will oversee the firm’s use of generative AI (GenAI) to enhance productivity, build new products and services, and deliver the best outcomes for clients, experts, and consultants.
Before joining Amazon, Dr. Leslie was a tenured professor of economics at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He also served for nine years as a professor at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, teaching courses in strategic management and empirical microeconomics.
