  • New York AG Letitia James has filed a lawsuit against 13 e-cigarette companies alleging violations of state and federal laws stemming from the manufacture, distribution, and sale of flavored vape products.
  • The complaint alleges that the companies have contributed to a public health crisis by illegally marketing and selling highly addictive nicotine products to underage consumers, and that the companies mislead customers about the safety and legality of their products, illegally ship products to New York, and violate regulations designed to curb youth vaping.
  • The lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, damages, civil penalties, disgorgement, and costs, among other remedies.
  • We have previously reported on separate, coordinated efforts by a bipartisan group of ten AGs, and D.C.’s settlement with a company that allegedly facilitated the unlawful sale of Zyn flavored nicotine pouches.
