NYC Mayoral Primary Results

On June 24, Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani received the most first-choice votes in the New York City Democratic mayoral primary, securing 43.5% of ballots. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo received 36.4%, and Comptroller Brad Lander received 11.3%. No candidate achieved the required majority of 51%, triggering ranked-choice tabulation, which is expected to conclude by July 1. Despite this, Cuomo conceded on June 25, and Mamdani stated his campaign would focus on housing and affordability as he now looks forward to the general election. All primary results can be found here.

Adams Announces Independent Campaign

Two days after the primary, Mayor Eric Adams officially launched his independent campaign for re-election. Adams will appear on the November general election ballot under the “EndAntiSemitism” and “Safe&Affordable.” ballot lines. Adams opted not to participate in the Democratic primary. The announcement was made during an event at City Hall with Adams supporters present.
