President Donald Trump announced that his imposed 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada will take effect today, March 4, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. EST.

President Trump stated that he hopes the tariffs will result in Mexico and Canada increasing their fight against fentanyl trafficking and illegal immigration and factories relocating to the United States. As of this post, neither Mexico nor Canada officials have responded to Trump’s announcement.
