Following a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision from August 20, 2025, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nepal, Honduras, and Nicaragua will revert back to their early termination dates as originally announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) earlier this summer: Nepal’s termination was effective August 20, 2025, and the termination for Honduras and Nicaragua are effective as of September 8, 2025. This includes any accompany work authorization; Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) and any automatic extension of work authorization benefits for those in TPS from Nepal were also terminated effective August 20, 2025, and those in TPS from Honduras or Nicaragua are terminated effective September 8, 2025. Employers with impacted employees will need to reverify those individuals for continued work authorization.
