Recently, it was reported the Trump administration decided to terminate all diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives at the CFPB. This decision was reported through a memo sent to staff by CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought. The memo reportedly would (1) prohibit any resources, including staff, budget, training, facilities or technologies, to be allocated to DEIA activities, (2) apply internal operations such as employee affinity groups and the consideration of DEIA in decision-making, (3) prohibit the inclusion of preferred pronouns in email signature blocks, and (4) ban the CFPB from gathering and analyzing DEIA-related data and publishing reports.
