Trump Rescinds Biden’s AI EO

Well, it was good while it lasted. Former President Biden issued an Executive Order (EO) in October 2023 designed to start the discussion and development of guardrails around using artificial intelligence (AI) in the United States. It was a valiant and important effort to try to get ahead of the known risks surrounding the use of AI.

President Trump gutted the AI EO on his first day in office in one fell swoop without providing any meaningful replacement. Some of his supporters even questioned the move. We’ll continue monitoring this situation to see how it develops.
