U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has received enough petitions to reach the congressionally mandated 65,000 H-1B visa regular cap and the 20,000 H-1B visa U.S. advanced degree exemption, known as the master’s cap, for fiscal year 2026. USCIS will send non-selection notices to registrants through their online accounts over the next few days. In prior years, USCIS has conducted an additional round of lottery selections to meet their quota. This year they only completed one round of selections.

We will begin planning for the FY27 CAP lottery in early 2026. H-1B registrants who were not selected in the FY26 CAP lottery should consult with their immigration attorney to determine how to proceed.
