Jason Straight

Senior managing director and leader of the Cybersecurity and Data Insights practice · K2 Integrity

Jason Straight is a senior managing director at K2 Integrity and leader of its Cyber Resilience and Digital Risk Advisory practice. With more than 20 years’ of experience in cybersecurity, privacy, and digital investigations, Jason works with clients across industries, including financial services, healthcare, professional services, and technology, to assess and mitigate the risks inherent in cybersecurity, privacy, data risk management, electronic investigations, advanced threat detection, AI safety, and digital forensic incident response matters.

Before joining K2 Integrity, Jason was chief privacy officer and senior managing director at Ankura Consulting, where he oversaw Ankura’s managed security services and incident response practices. He led the transition of staff, clients, equipment, and licenses to Ankura following its acquisition of UnitedLex’s cybersecurity business. Jason also led the rapid growth of Ankura’s managed security services business, and oversaw the firm’s global privacy program.

Prior to Ankura’s acquisition of UnitedLex, Jason served as UnitedLex’s senior vice president and chief privacy officer. He built and led the company’s cybersecurity and privacy advisory practice, managing dozens of cybersecurity investigations and data breach events for clients in a wide variety of industries and settings. He also built the company’s managed global privacy program, assisting clients in establishing GDPR-compliance privacy programs and serving as a virtual chief privacy officer.

Before joining UnitedLex, Jason was a managing director in Kroll’s cyber investigations practice, where he advised clients in a wide variety of areas including data breach response, data privacy, computer forensics, and data risk management.

Maggie Rose

Vice president of Client Solutions · K2 Integrity

Margaret “Maggie” Rose is vice president of client solutions at K2 Integrity. She specializes in personal data privacy, social media investigations, and threat monitoring. Maggie provides high-net-worth clients with customized research into their digital footprint to help them respond to the unique security challenges and privacy concerns that make a high-profile individual more vulnerable to cybersecurity risks. She monitors digital threat alerts across all network platforms, including the dark web, and conducts personally identifiable information (PII) removal services. Using her knowledge of social media privacy policies and regulations, Maggie helps lead K2 Integrity’s Information Security team’s social media privacy training sessions. She also produces travel security reports, using current threat intelligence to ensure clients’ safe travel domestically and internationally.

Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Maggie interned at Peppercomm, Inc., a digital communications agency headquartered in New York, where she was responsible for the reputation management of various financial, B2B, and consumer clients. While at Peppercomm, Maggie led alert monitoring across all media platforms to provide crisis management support during cases of civil litigation. Maggie also played an integral role during a congressional reelection campaign in Illinois’s 10th Congressional District, where she oversaw the campaign’s social media presence during political events to identify negative commentary and potential threat actors.

Maggie graduated with a B.A. in government and legal studies and in Francophone studies from Bowdoin College and was recognized on the Dean’s list. She is proficient in French.

Brian Finch

Parnter · Pillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw and Pittman

Brian Finch, a Pillsbury Public Policy partner with extensive regulatory and government affairs advocacy experience, is a recognized authority on global security and cybersecurity threats. He co-leads Pillsbury’s COVID-19 Response team, providing clients with real-time guidance on the implications of the rapidly evolving epidemic. Brian Finch has developed a comprehensive cybersecurity practice that blends his technical and legal skills with an enviable familiarity with the government’s processes.

Based in Washington, DC, Brian provides strategic legal counsel to companies from nearly every industry regarding regulatory issues, cyberattacks, national defense and intelligence policies, and homeland security concerns. He has helped more than 150 clients take advantage of SAFETY Act liability protections following terrorist or cyberattacks and has testified before the U.S. Congress regarding the Act’s provisions. Brian advises on risk mitigation tactics, minimizing post-event negative consequences, and litigation strategies. He has also worked with the Departments of Defense and Health and Human Services on a variety of emergency medical preparedness matters, including weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and pandemic preparedness/response issues.

Olivia Makara

Director of Cybersecurity and Data Insights · K2 Integrity

Olivia Makara is a director in K2 Integrity’s Cyber Resilience and Digital Investigations practice. Olivia works with clients across industries including technology, insurance, and financial and professional services to perform cybersecurity risk assessments and conduct AI assurance services. She also consults with clients on cyber threat detection and intelligence operations and manages complex investigations requiring digital analysis and threat monitoring.

Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Olivia held several roles at Ankura Consulting, most recently as director, cybersecurity. She managed cybersecurity engagements including in complex investigations, expert services, managed detection and response (MDR) and managed threat intelligence (MTI). She collaborated with engineering, threat detection operations, and client stakeholders to deliver on security monitoring architecture and execution for U.S.-based and international clients in varying industries including FinTech, global logistics, and insurance. Olivia provided analysis on cyber investigations, prepared expert reports, performed dark web searches, and led threat intelligence report creation for due diligence cases. She has also managed cybersecurity and privacy programs for clients requiring cross-team deliverables ranging from written privacy and security policies to penetration testing reports.

Before her time in Ankura’s managed detection and response practice, Olivia was a senior associate in its cybersecurity data analytics team, where she executed on-demand data mining services to identify sensitive data exposed in a data breach incident to meet client breach notification requirements.

Olivia received a M.S. in data science from Southern Methodist University and a B.S., summa cum laude, in economics from The George Washington University.
