INTERPOL’s constitution prohibits it from being involved in any case that is predominantly political, military, religious, or racial. We do often see Red Notices that are issued not because a government really wants to prosecute a crime, but because someone in that government wants to eliminate a political opponent or punish an adversary. INTERPOL does not want to be involved in that kind of prosecution.
