On Sept. 11, an Atlanta-based venture capital fund that ran a minority grant program, and an advocacy group founded by longtime diversity, equity and inclusion opponent Edward Blum, surprised many DEI advocates by announcing their settlement in American Alliance for Equal Rights v. Fearless Fund Management LLC.

But perhaps no one should have been surprised.
