Not all law firms are created equal and not all are capable of handling complex high stakes cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, and insurance coverage. Our firm not only specializes in these areas of the law but more importantly focuses on cases involving two or three of these areas simultaneously. This experience puts our clients in the best possible position to pursue justice., and affords our partners confidence that the have chosen the right firm to work with.
The history of our firm dates back to 1979 right here in Tampa, Florida when Dale Swope founded the firm as a solo practitioner. Since then success and the need for our expertise has driven the firm to grow, giving us the strength to fight and the experience to win. Swope, Rodante P.A. ranges in size from eight to twelve attorneys, with a total of about 30 staff, including paralegals, legal assistants, administrative personnel, and other team members.
While we have grown in order to meet the unique needs of our clients and special challenges of today’s legal environment, we made no effort to expand beyond our current size, and believe strongly that our clients will best be served by a team focused exclusively on getting the best outcome for a small number of clients. Also, unlike many law firms, we do not attempt to handle all types of legal matters. On the contrary, we have defined a tightly focused mission to handle only one thing: claims for people who have been catastrophically injured, or the victims of insurance bad faith, or had an insurance company wrongfully deny coverage.
Experience: Our attorneys have decades of experience handling some of the biggest personal injury cases in Florida and around the country. We have won precedent setting cases at the appellate level including the Florida Supreme Court. Many of our cases are covered by local and national media.
We obtained a $6.7M verdict a client who suffered food poisoning from raw oysters as highlighted by the New York Post. Our Attorneys stood up for a family who lost a loved one who died under the care of a mental health treatment facility as detailed here by WTSP 10 News Tampa Bay. After a young child died while under the supervision of a Tampa Daycare our lawyers stepped in to pursue justice as covered by The Tampa Bay Times. When a negligent driver forever changed the life of a young motorcyclist our lawyers took on the fight, and won. Our appellate team defeated GEICO at the Florida Supreme Court, where the insurer argued it was entitled to a $4M setoff.
